IDEA unfolds its vision and goals with a particular focus on the University of Southern Denmark. IDEA must also make activities at the regional, national and international levels – to the extent it is possible to get external funds for it.

IDEA will seek to maintain its position as Denmark’s leading competence centre in this field and will take the lead on major projects and consortium creations.

Focusing on the University of Southern Denmark and Region South, IDEA must:

• promote students’ ability to identify, evaluate and organise new opportunities, especially business opportunities
• promote students’ and researchers’ abilities to transform  scholarly knowledge and work across disciplines
• promote academic staff involvement and interest in teaching in the entrepreneurship field
• strengthen the exchange of knowledge between universities and businesses
• strengthen the cooperation with alumni who have chosen a career path as entrepreneurs and  business managers
• develop and possibly offer new courses and professional elements of entrepreneurship in cooperation with professional groups
• carry out applied research in entrepreneurship education, develop new teaching methods and disseminate knowledge about them
